Meet the Team

Eimear Quinn

Clonmel Premier Physiotherapy Clinic was established by Eimear Quinn, Chartered Physiotherapist. Eimear completed her undergraduate training in physiotherapy in University College Dublin. She is a dedicated physiotherapist  who has since spent 2 years in Melbourne, Australia, where she graduated with a First Class Honours Masters in Sports Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne in 2009. Eimear also achieved First Place International Student in the Masters Programme overall and First Place Student for Coursework and Clinical placement in Sports Physiotherapy.

Having previously worked in South Tipperary Hospital for over 2 years, Eimear gained a wealth of experience treating an array of conditions both musculoskeletal and neurological. She has since worked with the Tipperary U21 football team, Kilkenny U 21 hurling team and other elite athletes. She has worked in private practice since 2008 in Melbourne, Kilkenny and Tipperary.

She is a Stott Trained pilates instructor and enjoys teaching classes. She has also completed several other courses including dry needling and sports traumatology.

Sergiu Ciobanu

Sergiu is a fantastic addition to the clinic. He is a world class athlete having competed in the marathon in the World Championships in Moscow. He is a four time National Marathon Champion and National Cross Country Champion in 2013. He brings a wealth of experience to his work. Having trained as a kinesiotherapist and physical educator in his native Moldova, he has gone on to study at the Physical Therapy Institute in Cork where he has graduated as a physical therapist and is entered on the Irish Institute of Physical Therapy Register. In addition, he has Athletics Ireland Coaching qualification in his repetoire and coaches athletes in Clonmel and Fermoy.Sergiu specialises in manual therapy and  musculoskeletal injuries.

David Norris

Chartered Physiotherapist

David Norris graduated from the University of Cumbria in 2020 with an MSc degree in physiotherapy. He is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and is CORU registered.  David earned a BSc Honours degree in General Nursing from UCC in 2015 before beginning the Masters of Physiotherapy program. For three years, he worked as a General Nurse at Cork University Hospital, gaining knowledge in a variety of medical specialties.

David has worked in both private practice and public service in the UK and Ireland since qualifying as a physiotherapist, gaining experience in treating a wide range of disorders in musculoskeletal and neurological areas. David enjoys being current with the newest research and furthering his education, where he has qualifications in dry needling, taping, shockwave therapy, and vestibular rehabilitation. He has completed pitch-side sports injury courses and first aid courses and is currently working with GAA and rugby teams.

Monical McCarthy

Qualified Pilates Instructor & Massage Therapist

Monica is extensively trained with 25+ years experience teaching pilates. Her training includes ‘ Clinical approach Pilates with Modern Pilates (UK)’and ‘Intermediate Pilates with Body Control Pilates (UK)’ and  she has also training in reformer pilates.  In addition her training  in somatic movement, personal training and mindfulness allows her to bring these influences to her classes. Monica is also a massage therapist and offers this service at the clinic . She has also previously worked in the prestigious Cashel Palace Hotel as a massage therapist.

Monica Conway

Lymphoedema Therapist

Having worked as a nurse for many years Monica qualified in Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) in 2004 after training at the Dr Vodder School in Austria. Having a passion in the area of care of patients suffering from Lymphoedema, Lipoedema and related conditions, Monica achieved a master’s degree in Lymphoedema Practice at Bradford University and graduated in 2013 and was the first to do so in Ireland. This qualification enables Monica to not only treat your condition but to give you a conclusive diagnosis.  As Monica has a keen interest in sharing her knowledge with other therapists, she has held the position of Director of Education and Learning in Manual Lymph Drainage Ireland (MLD Ireland) and is on the board and a founding member of the National Lymphoedema Framework Ireland (NLFI).

Koo McDonnell

Registered Acupuncturist

Koo Mc Donnell is a registered nurse and acupuncturist. She has 35 years experience working as a nurse abroad as well as in Tipperary University Hospital. She is a member of the Acupuncture Council of Ireland. In addition she has 20 + years experience working as an acupuncturist. Koo loves to take a holistic approach with her patients and put them at ease. She’s a skilled practitioner who treats conditions from the physical to the emotional components. Koo treats a wide spectrum of complaints including pain, headache, stress, sleep complaints, fertility issues to name but a few.
